The History of Red Ball
World AIDS Day is a day set aside to recognize the impact that HIV & AIDS have had on our society. More than 25 Million people have died of AIDS since 1981 and an estimated 33 Million+ people are currently living with HIV or AIDS worldwide.
Red Ball grew out of an idea to produce an event that would draw awareness to World AIDS Day on December 1st. The event was created as a means of drawing a different and diverse crowd to an event that would both mark the day of observance in a larger way and would allow for messages of prevention and support for those affected to be delivered to a larger audience while raising funds to support the mission of Colorado AIDS Project.
